Coucou MBTI Privacy Policy

Coucou MBTI ("we", "us") is a campus social-matching app built by a student team. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect only what the service needs, and we do not sell your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

• Account: your login email address; if you sign in with Google, the Google account identifier and the email address Google returns to us; if you sign in with WeChat, a WeChat identifier.
• Profile you provide: nickname, avatar, gender, birthday, MBTI result, interests, a short sign-off line, contact handle (e.g. WeChat ID), and optional academic details (college, major, enrollment year, degree).
• Student verification: your school email address (used only to confirm student status), or an approximate location check during campus check-in. Your precise location is used momentarily to verify you are within campus range and is not shown to other users.
• Usage data: basic device and network information (device model, system language, IP address) for security, localization and abuse prevention.

2. How We Use It

• To run the weekly matching: your MBTI, interests, school and preferences are used by our matching program.
• To show your profile card to the one person you are matched with each week. Your contact handle is visible only to your match.
• To verify student status, prevent abuse, and process reports and blocks.
• To notify you of match results (email or in-app notification).

3. What Other Users Can See

Only your weekly match can see your letter card: nickname, avatar, MBTI, school, academic details you filled in, interests, sign-off line, and - only after a successful match - your contact handle. There is no public feed and no public profile.

4. Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Alibaba Cloud servers located in mainland China. If you use the app from outside mainland China, your information is transferred to and stored there. We use transport encryption and access controls. No method of storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete your account at any time inside the app (Profile → Log out / Delete account), which removes your personal information from our active systems. You may also email us to request deletion.

6. Third Parties

We use cloud infrastructure (Alibaba Cloud, mainland China). Where you choose Google sign-in, Google's identity service verifies your identity and returns your account identifier and email address to us; where you choose WeChat sign-in, WeChat's identity service does the equivalent. We do not sell or share your personal information with advertisers.

7. Children

Coucou MBTI is intended for university students aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a person under 18, we delete it and close the account.

8. Changes

We will post any changes to this policy on this page with an updated date.
